The Big Picture: Visual Identities and Narratives
by
Ronald Ang
The Big Picture explores the construction of virtual identities and narratives through the creation of a virtual character and the transmedia narrative system that surrounds them.
The objective of this project is to better inform designers about how transmedia narrative systems can be used to create cohesive identities and narratives that would exist across multiple platforms simultaneously.
By using the act of constructing a virtual character’s existence across different mediums as an example, this project hopes to bring insight into the different ways in which a transmedia narrative system can be used to craft identities and narratives that are cohesive across multiple channels and media forms.
