Ageing in Times of Falsehood
Why is "fake news" still a problem in today's world? What causes individuals to believe in false stories? Fake news has become a global issue that many Singaporeans are concerned about. Local organisations and government have worked to combat the spread of misinformation online through legislation, media-literacy, and fact-checking. Even with efforts and initiatives involved to combat false information, the problem still remains. This project aims to reinforce & broaden the digital literacy efforts in Singapore particularly among the older people from the lower socioeconomic backgrounds. It also seeks to educate elderly about the importance of being conscious of what they consume on the Internet and through social media platforms.
